Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia (PBM), together with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR), successfully delivered JKR BIM Day 2025 at PICC, bringing together industry stakeholders to strengthen BIM adoption and digital transformation across public asset delivery.

Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia (PBM), in collaboration with Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) through its Integrated Asset Planning Branch (CPAB), successfully delivered JKR BIM Day 2025, held on 30 September–1 October 2025 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).

Now in its sixth edition, this biennial programme was convened under the theme “Bridging Design to Sustainable Public Assets Through Digital Twins & AI”, reinforcing the shared industry focus on strengthening sustainability outcomes and accelerating digital transformation across Malaysia’s public asset lifecycle.

The event was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Maslan, Deputy Minister of Works, and was attended by JKR’s senior leadership, government representatives, industry stakeholders, and members of the academic community. The programme recorded a strong turnout of 965 participants, reflecting the growing momentum behind BIM adoption and construction digitalisation nationwide.

Knowledge Exchange and Technology Engagement

Across the two-day programme, JKR BIM Day 2025 featured structured knowledge-sharing through the Knowledge Arena and Project Showcase sessions, supported by 10 moderators and 38 speakers from Malaysia and the international community, including representatives from Russia, Spain, France, China, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.

The Technology Update segment complemented the programme with 22 presentations delivered by 31 exhibitors and strategic partners comprising government agencies, professional bodies, and private sector organisations. Participants also engaged with a range of emerging construction technologies showcased throughout the exhibition area.

Key Highlight: Strengthening BIM Content Standardisation

A key milestone during the programme was the launch of the BIM Manufacturing Component Library portal, developed by TeknovasiX in collaboration with PBM. The initiative is intended to enhance national BIM resources and support the standardisation of BIM components produced by suppliers and manufacturers, strengthening consistency and readiness for broader implementation.

The programme also emphasised the continued adoption of Pekeliling PK1.15: Pelaksanaan Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a key policy driver for government projects, supporting more integrated BIM implementation from planning and design through construction and asset management.

The programme concluded with closing remarks by Ir. Maria binti Marcus, Senior Director of CPAB, highlighting the importance of sustained collaboration, innovation, and organisational preparedness in delivering end-to-end digital transformation for asset management.
