It was a proud moment for Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia (PBM) as its members were officially appointed to the expert panel for the Phase 1 Meeting of the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) for BIM Level 4 and Level 5, held from 21–23 February 2025 at IBIS Kuala Lumpur.
This important initiative marks the first step in formalizing advanced BIM skill levels nationwide. The appointment process was highly competitive, with strict criteria including a minimum of seven years’ experience in BIM, resulting in some nominations being rejected.

These dedicated PBM members, who come from diverse sectors including government, academia, and industry, continue to play a crucial role in enhancing the quality and professionalism of BIM practices in Malaysia.
The development of this NOSS framework is expected to raise the standard of BIM practitioners and align their competencies with current and future industry needs.
PBM also extends its sincere thanks to the Department of Skills Development (Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran – JPK Putrajaya) for approving the NOSS development application. This application was submitted by UTNM Resources Sdn Bhd, a BIM consultancy firm that is also an active PBM member.
