Minister of Works Receives Courtesy Visit from Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia

YB Dato’ Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi received a courtesy visit from Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia (PBM) to discuss the organisation’s initiatives in promoting BIM adoption and strengthening collaboration with government agencies.

The Minister of Works, YB Dato’ Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, recently received a courtesy visit from Pertubuhan BIM Malaysia (PBM) to discuss strategic collaboration in advancing the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) across Malaysia’s construction sector.

The PBM delegation was led by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Elias Bin Ismail, Chairman of the PBM Advisory Council, and included Assoc. Prof. Dr Ahmad Tarmizi Bin Haron (Vice Chairman I), Mr Muhammad Iyas Bin Mahzan (Secretary), and Mr Mohd Lutfil Hadi Bin Hamzah.

Also present were senior officials from the Public Works Department (JKR):

  • YBhg. Ir. Hj. Zulkifli, Deputy Director General (Specialist Sector)

  • YBhg. Ar. Sharina Intan, Senior Director, Architectural Branch

  • YBhg. Ir. Hjh. Atikah, Director, Complex Project Management Division

The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) was represented by Mr Mohamad Faizal, General Manager of the Technology Development Sector.

During the meeting, PBM presented its role in promoting BIM awareness and competency through national webinars, industry seminars, and collaborative programmes with agencies under the Ministry of Works. The organisation also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting government-led digital transformation in the built environment.

PBM expressed its appreciation to the Minister and agency representatives for their openness to future collaboration and continued support for initiatives that enhance BIM adoption and standards in Malaysia.
